Above is a photo of the swimmers that competed at the long distance 1500m champs on Thursday 19th Jan The event was held at the Jubilee pool, and the swimmers were fortunate that the weather stayed fine for the evening
The age group winners were

9 year olds – Josh Nichol 27.15

10 year olds Bella Parham 26.28 and Zac Dell 23.46

11 year olds Rebecca Cheyne 22.11 and Dylan Petherick 23.06

12 year olds Kaitlin Petherick 20.51 and William Hughes 21.22

13 Year olds Abi Chapman 19.09 and Brandon Nicholls 20.49

14 year olds Courtney Walsh 19.54 and Bradley Cheyne 19.08

15 and over kirsty Des landes 20.28 and Tristan Cheyne 18.18

There was some excellent racing, and we were proud of the younger swimmers that stepped up to compete for the first time. The swimmers will be competing at Counties championships this weekend at Papatoetoe. This is a 4 day event going form Friday 27th Jan to Monday 30th Jan. the team are hoping for some fine weather as the competition is in an outdoor pool.

Some important things to remember. We are duty club Sunday morning, so we need to set up the pool. If everyone could get there for 0730 this would be good. We also each need to bring a plate of food labelled with the club name as this will be required to feed the officals.

The afternoon sessions are for finals so no one has been alloted for this re time keeping or I.O.T. If your children are in finals please be prepared to assist if required.

For the relays on Friday night a family has been named( who has someone in that team) for each relay team to supervise they get to the start , the right lane and in the correct postions i.e 1 , 2 , 3 or 4. ( start end or turn end)

Seniors evening training sessions are at the jubilee Pools mon and wed 5-7pm, Friday 4-5.30pm

Gold and silver squad
Mon, wed 5.30 – 6.30pm, national swimmers stay in until 7pm
Friday 4-5pm
Sat 6-8am

Development squad tues 5-6pm, Fri. 4-5pm
Diamond squad Friday night training is at the jubilee pools 4-5.30pm

From Monday 12th march, your times will return to normal, please confirm those with your coach

Trophy recall -All Counties Trophies to be returned at COUNTIES CHAMPS please (Control Room)

Do not Park anywhere that has parking limits -A lot of members got fines for parking by the the new recreation centre. (So be aware)

ALL CLUBS YOU WILL NEED TO get what ever tents and gazebo’s up as early as possible, so cars CAN BE REMOVED from the back CAR PARK

Only cars with the permits will be allowed IN the back CARPARK. (POOL Rules)

PORTOLOOS will be available as well as indoor toilets

Fundraising BBQ’S ARE BEEN DONE BY Clubs -So plenty of food available

THE COFFEE MAN will be on site-For your caffeine fix

COME PREPARED FOR THE WEATHER -at the moment we seem to be having all seasons at once

CLUB CHAMPS – LONG DISTANCE:
The Long Distance is being held at the Jubilee Pools on TUESDAY 17th JANUARY (800) andTHURSDAY 19th JANUARY (1500).

There will be no pm training, warm up 5pm. ALL PARENTS REQUIRED TO HELP OUT WITH SET UP, TIME KEEPING AND PACKING UP. THANK YOU.

REMINDER: The Club Champs Long Distance 800 Free and 1500 Free are being held next week at the Jubilee Pools in Pukekohe on TUESDAY 17th FOR THE 800 FREE; THURSDAY 19TH FOR THE 1500 FREE.

Warm up for both days starts 5.00 P.M. with the start time 5.30 p.m. sharp. EVERYONE IS REQUIRED TO HELP OUT WITH SET UP, OFFICIATING & PACK UP.
